Tips for United Kingdom travelers

  • Apply at least 15–30 days before travel to accommodate processing times; avoid last-minute submissions.
  • Common rejection reasons for UK applicants: passport validity shorter than required; inadequate funds or inconsistent financial proof; mismatch between travel plans and chosen visa category; incomplete or inconsistent information; missing documents (e.g., invitation letter or hotel bookings).
  • E-Visa vs embassies: the e-Visa is applied online via onlinemfa.gov.pk and issued electronically; no in-person visa appointment is required for standard tourist/business/student/medical categories; if you need a different visa type or face complications, you may pursue a traditional embassy route.
  • Travel advisories and bilateral notes: check the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office travel advice for Pakistan; stay updated on any entry restrictions or health requirements.
  • Extensions inside Pakistan: extensions are not guaranteed on arrival; if you need to stay longer, consult the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA)/Immigration authorities in Pakistan and apply for an extension before your current visa expires; plan ahead as processing times can vary.
