What you need

  • Passport validity: Your passport must be valid for the duration of your stay in the United States; no requirement to have an extra six months beyond your visit for ESTA.
  • Forms: ESTA is an online application; no DS-160 or VAF1 required for ESTA; you may need to complete DS-160 if you later switch to a visa route.
  • Financial proof: Not required for ESTA; you should have enough funds to cover your stay; border officers may ask.
