UK citizens can obtain a visa on arrival at Namibian ports of entry for stays of up to 90 days, or pre-arrange one through a Namibian mission.

What you need

  • Passport valid at least 6 months beyond arrival with 2 blank pages
  • Return or onward ticket
  • Proof of accommodation
  • Proof of sufficient funds (roughly NAD 500/day as a guideline)
  • Yellow fever certificate if arriving from an endemic area
  • Completed visa-on-arrival application form, available at the port of entry or from the Ministry of Home Affairs website

Visa types

  • Tourist visa on arrival: single entry, up to 90 days, fee around NAD 1,200 (about USD 65)
  • Business visa on arrival: single entry, 90 days, around NAD 1,200, requires an invitation letter
  • Work and Study visas must be applied for in advance at a Namibian embassy or high commission; not available on arrival

  • Available at Hosea Kutako International Airport (Windhoek) and major land borders such as Noordoewer and Ngoma
  • Present your passport, completed form, and payment at the immigration counter
  • Payment accepted in cash (NAD or USD), card at larger airports
  • Processing typically takes 15-30 minutes during normal hours; allow extra time at peak periods

  • No separate advance processing time, since it is issued on the spot

Tips for United Kingdom travelers
