UK citizens must obtain an e-visa to Guinea before travel; apply online at the official Guinea e-visa portal; tourist e-visas start at USD 60 with processing 3-5 business days.

What you need

  • Passport validity: passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry and contain at least 2 blank visa pages.
  • Specific forms: online e-visa application via the official Guinea e-visa portal (no DS-160, VAF1A or similar paper forms).
  • Financial proof: show you can cover your stay; there is no fixed published minimum; as guidance, plan for around USD 50 per day of stay.
  • Accommodation and return ticket: confirmed hotel booking or invitation letter and a return/onward ticket.
  • Photo spec: 35x45 mm passport-style photo with a white background, head centered, taken within the last 6 months.
  • Biometrics: not required to submit biometrics separately for the online e-visa; authorities may collect biometric data at entry if required.
  • Travel health insurance: recommended but not strictly required.

  • Tourist e-visa: official name Guinea e-Visa – Tourist; validity 90 days from issue; maximum stay per visit 30 days; single entry; approximate fee USD 60; GNF equivalent around 540,000 GNF.
  • Business e-visa: official name Guinea e-Visa – Business; validity 90 days from issue; maximum stay per visit 30 days; single entry; approximate fee USD 120; GNF equivalent around 1,080,000 GNF.
  • Note: Student and Work visas for Guinea typically require embassy processing and are not guaranteed via the online e-visa route.

  • Steps: fill applicant details, upload scanned documents (passport data page and passport-style photo), select visa type (Tourist or Business), pay the visa fee online, receive confirmation email and e-visa approval by email.
