What you need

  • Specific forms: No visa forms are required for short stays; visa-free entry applies. If you stay longer or move to long-term status, apply via migri.fi; there is no DS-160 or UK-specific form for Finland.
  • Financial proof: No fixed financial proof is required for visa-free entry; border control may ask to show evidence of funds to cover your stay (recent bank statements, credit/debit cards).
  • Accommodation and return ticket: Not mandatory to show at border; however it is prudent to have details of accommodation and a return/onward ticket if asked.
  • Photo spec: Not required to submit a visa photo for entry; your passport photo is in your passport.
  • Biometrics: Biometrics are not collected in advance for visa-free entry. If you later apply for a Finnish residence permit, you will need to attend a biometrics appointment with Migri or the Finnish mission.
