What you need

  • Passport issued within the last 10 years, valid for at least 3 months beyond the planned departure from Schengen
  • No visa needed for stays up to 90 days
  • Proof of accommodation and a return/onward ticket may be requested
  • Sufficient funds (guideline around DKK 350-500 per day)
  • Travel health insurance covering at least EUR 30,000 is strongly recommended
  • Biometrics: passport stamped manually at the border, no advance enrolment required

Visa types

  • Short-stay visa-exempt entry - tourism, business, family visits, up to 90 days in any rolling 180-day period across the whole Schengen Area
  • Long-stay/national visa (type D) or residence/work permit - required for stays beyond 90 days, such as employment or study, applied for in advance via the Danish Immigration Service (SIRI) or the Danish Embassy in London
