Guide last updated October 21, 2026. Always verify with official sources before travel.

What you need

  • Passport valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry
  • Digital passport-size photo and scanned passport bio-data page for the e-visa application
  • Confirmed accommodation booking or invitation letter
  • Return/onward flight itinerary
  • Proof of sufficient funds for the stay
  • Yellow fever vaccination certificate if arriving from or transiting an at-risk country
  • A valid email address and card for online fee payment

Visa types

  • Single-entry Visa — valid for a stay of up to 90 days (granted for up to 30 days at a time, extendable), fee approx. USD 30-50
  • Double-entry Visa — allows one re-entry, fee approx. USD 45-55
  • KAZA Univisa — covers Zimbabwe and Zambia (plus day trips to Botswana's Kazungula border), valid 30 days, fee USD 50, ideal for Victoria Falls visits spanning both sides

How to apply online

  • Apply in advance through the official portal evisa.gov.zw by creating an account and completing the online form
  • Upload the digital photo and passport scan, along with accommodation and itinerary details
  • Pay the fee online by debit/credit card
  • Receive the approved e-visa by email within 3-5 business days and print it for travel
  • Alternatively, a visa on arrival is available at Harare, Victoria Falls, and Bulawayo airports and major land borders for travellers who have not pre-applied, with similar documentation checked on the spot and payment accepted in USD cash

Fees & processing time

  • Single-entry visa: USD 30-50
  • Double-entry visa: USD 45-55
  • KAZA Univisa: USD 50
  • E-visa standard processing time: 3-5 business days
  • Visa on arrival processing: typically 15-30 minutes at the port of entry, subject to queue length
  • Total realistic budget: USD 30-55 depending on visa type and entry count

Tips for Pakistan travelers

  • Pre-applying for the e-visa avoids queues at arrival, especially useful at busy periods at Victoria Falls Airport
  • Carry USD cash as a backup even with an approved e-visa, in case of payment system issues at the port of entry
  • If visiting Victoria Falls from both Zimbabwe and Zambia, the KAZA Univisa saves cost and paperwork compared to two single-country visas
  • Common delay causes for the e-visa: unclear or missing accommodation proof and photos that don't meet the specification
  • Keep printed copies of the e-visa approval and accommodation booking accessible throughout the trip
  • Extensions beyond the initially granted period can be arranged at the Department of Immigration offices in Harare or Bulawayo before the current permit expires
