What you need

  • Passport valid for the intended stay
  • Completed online application via gov.uk
  • Digital photo
  • Biometrics (fingerprints and photo) given in person at a UK visa application centre (VFS Global)
  • Proof of funds - bank statements for the last 6 months
  • Proof of ties to Pakistan (employment letter, property documents)
  • Confirmed accommodation and travel plans
  • Travel insurance is not required but recommended

Visa types

  • Standard Visitor visa: single or multiple entry, up to 6 months, GBP 127
  • 2-year, 5-year and 10-year long-validity Visitor visas: GBP 475, 848 and 1,059 respectively, each allowing multiple visits of up to 6 months
  • Student, Work and Family visas require separate applications with different fee structures

How to apply

  • Complete the online application on gov.uk
  • Pay the fee by card
  • Book a biometrics appointment at a VFS Global centre in Islamabad, Karachi or Lahore
  • Submit original supporting documents at the appointment
  • Standard processing is about 3 weeks (15 working days), with priority (5 working days) and super-priority (next day) services available for an extra fee
