  • Total estimated cost: PKR 31,000-34,000
  • Standard processing time: 15 calendar days from appointment date

Tips for Pakistan travelers

  • Apply at least 6-8 weeks before intended travel - Portugal is one of the busiest Schengen consulates for Pakistani applicants and appointment slots fill quickly
  • Common rejection reasons: insufficient bank balance, weak proof of ties to Pakistan, unclear or inconsistent travel purpose, incomplete insurance documentation
  • All applications go through VFS Global; there is no direct embassy submission option
  • Keep consistent, verifiable documentation - Portuguese authorities scrutinize employment and financial records closely for Pakistani applicants given historically high overstay concerns
  • Extensions inside Portugal are only granted for exceptional circumstances, not for tourism convenience
