Macao Visa for Pakistan Citizens 2026

Visa Required

Pakistani citizens need a visa for Macao, applied for in advance through the Chinese Embassy/Consulate in Pakistan since Macao has no own mission there; fee is modest (around MOP 100-200 equivalent) but processing can take 1-2 weeks.

Guide last updated October 20, 2026. Always verify with official sources before travel.

What you need

  • Passport valid for at least 6 months beyond the stay in Macao, with at least 1 blank page
  • Completed Macao visa application form
  • Recent passport-style photo
  • Confirmed round-trip or onward travel itinerary
  • Hotel booking confirmation for the stay
  • Proof of sufficient funds (bank statement)
  • Invitation letter if visiting for business or family reasons
  • Biometrics are generally not required in advance for the Macao visa itself, but may be requested for any linked mainland China transit visa

Visa types

  • Tourist visa: single entry, typically valid for a stay of up to 30 days, approximate fee MOP 100-200 (roughly USD 15-25)
  • Business visa: single or multiple entry, requires a sponsoring company's invitation, slightly higher fee than tourist
  • Transit visa: for travelers passing through Macao en route elsewhere, shorter validity and reduced fee

How to apply

  • Macao does not have its own consulate in Pakistan, so Pakistani nationals apply through the Chinese Embassy in Islamabad or the Chinese Consulate in Karachi, which handles Macao visa applications on Macao's behalf, or via an authorized visa agent
  • Steps: submit the application form, passport, photo, and supporting documents at the Chinese mission's visa section; pay the fee at submission
  • Fee: approximately MOP 100-200 (about USD 15-25), payable in local currency equivalent at the mission
  • Processing time: typically 5-10 working days, sometimes longer if additional verification is requested
  • The visa is issued as a sticker or approval letter collected in person or via courier, separate from any mainland China visa if transiting through mainland territory

Fees & processing time

  • Visa fee: approximately MOP 100-200 (USD 15-25 equivalent)
  • No separate VFS/BLS fee if applying directly at the Chinese mission; agent fees apply if using a visa agency
  • Total estimated cost: USD 20-40 including agent handling where used
  • Standard processing: 5-10 working days
  • Express service is not standard for Macao visas processed via the Chinese mission in Pakistan - apply early

Tips for Pakistan travelers

  • Apply at least 3-4 weeks before travel given the indirect application route through the Chinese Embassy/Consulate
  • Common rejection reasons: unclear travel purpose, insufficient funds shown, incomplete hotel/itinerary documentation
  • If your trip also involves transiting mainland China, check separately whether a mainland transit visa or visa-free transit policy applies - it is distinct from the Macao visa
  • Keep both digital and printed copies of your hotel booking and bank statement, as the Chinese mission may ask for originals
  • Macao immigration can grant short extensions on arrival in limited cases, but this should not be relied upon when planning your trip
