Libya Visa for Pakistan Citizens 2026

No Admission

Pakistani passport holders currently cannot obtain entry to Libya - there is no functioning visa route for Pakistani nationals at this time due to Libya's suspended consular operations and ongoing instability.

Guide last updated October 20, 2026. Always verify with official sources before travel.

What you need

  • There is presently no standard visa pathway available to Pakistani citizens for entry into Libya
  • Libya's consular services for Pakistani applicants are effectively suspended; Libya has no resident embassy in Pakistan, and the Libyan Embassy abroad (embassyoflibya.org) does not currently process tourist or business visas for Pakistani nationals
  • Diplomatic, UN, NGO, or oil-sector personnel with pre-arranged government sponsorship are the rare exception, and must be cleared individually through Libya's Ministry of Foreign Affairs before any travel

Visa types

  • No tourist, business, or transit visa category is currently open to Pakistani applicants
  • Official/diplomatic entry permits exist only for government-to-government missions and are arranged directly between foreign ministries, not through normal visa channels

How to apply

  • Standard application is not available. Pakistani citizens should not attempt travel to Libya on a tourist or business basis
  • Anyone with a genuine official, humanitarian, or employer-sponsored reason for travel must have their Libyan sponsor (government body, UN agency, or employer) apply for entry clearance directly with Libya's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the General Administration for Passports, Nationality and Foreigners' Affairs - this is arranged case by case and is not a public application process
  • Check Libya's current entry status before any travel, as conditions change with the security and political situation

Fees & processing time

  • Not applicable - there is no public fee schedule or processing timeline for Pakistani nationals, since no standard visa is currently issued
  • Sponsor-arranged official clearances, where they exist, are negotiated directly between governments/agencies and carry no fixed cost or published timeline

Tips for Pakistan travelers

  • Do not book travel to Libya assuming a visa can be obtained on arrival or through an agent - unauthorized entry attempts risk detention and deportation
  • Check Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs travel advisories before making any plans, as Libya is generally advised against for all travel
  • If you have a confirmed employer or humanitarian assignment in Libya, work exclusively through that organization's government liaison rather than any private visa agent
  • Monitor the Libyan Embassy's official channels (embassyoflibya.org) for any future reopening of standard visa services for Pakistani nationals
