  • Complete the Schengen visa application form and gather all required documents
  • Attend an appointment in person to submit documents and biometrics
  • Pay the visa fee and any service fee at the time of submission
  • Standard processing takes 15 working days from a complete application, but often extends to 4-6 weeks for Pakistani applicants
  • Decision and passport collection in person or via courier

Fees & processing time

  • Visa fee: EUR 90 (~PKR 25,000) for adults; EUR 45 for children 6-12; free under 6
  • Service fee (via the representing mission's visa centre): approximately PKR 7,000-9,000
  • Total estimated cost: PKR 32,000-37,000
  • Standard processing: 15 working days
  • Extended processing (4-6 weeks) is common for Pakistani nationals due to additional checks

Tips for Pakistan travelers

  • Apply at least 6-8 weeks before travel dates
  • Common rejection reasons: insufficient funds, weak travel history, unclear purpose, inconsistent documentation
  • Confirm which mission currently represents Latvia for visa purposes in Pakistan, as this can change
  • Check current Schengen entry rules and any Latvia-specific requirements before applying
  • Overstaying or visa violations can trigger Schengen-wide bans affecting future EU travel
