Fees & processing time

  • Visa fee: EUR 90 (~PKR 28,000) for adults; EUR 45 for children 6-12; free under 6
  • VFS service fee: approximately PKR 7,500-9,000
  • Total estimated cost: PKR 35,000-40,000
  • Standard processing: 15 working days
  • No official express/priority service for Pakistani applicants at most Italy VFS centres

Tips for Pakistan travelers

  • Apply at least 6-8 weeks before travel given longer processing for Pakistani nationals
  • Common rejection reasons: insufficient funds, weak travel history, unclear purpose of visit, inconsistent documents, weak ties to Pakistan
  • All Pakistani applicants must apply through VFS Global Italy centres; direct embassy appointments for lodgement are not available
  • Check current Italian embassy advisories, as Schengen document requirements change periodically
  • Overstaying or visa violations can trigger Schengen-wide bans affecting future EU travel; extensions inside Italy are rarely granted except for medical emergencies or force majeure
