  • Completed Irish visa application form generated through the AVATS online system
  • Two recent passport-size photos meeting Irish visa photo specifications
  • Confirmed round-trip flight reservation
  • Hotel booking or invitation letter from an Irish host, with the host's proof of status/address
  • Bank statements for the last 6 months showing sufficient funds
  • Travel/medical insurance valid for the duration of stay
  • Biometrics (fingerprints) submitted at the VFS Global Ireland visa application centre

Visa types

  • Short-stay visit visa (Type C) - single or multiple entry, valid up to 90 days, fee EUR 60 (single entry) or EUR 100 (multiple entry)
  • Student visa and long-stay (Type D) visas - require separate documentation including an offer letter and proof of tuition payment
  • Transit visa - for travelers transiting through an Irish airport to a non-Schengen destination

How to apply

  • Complete the application on the AVATS (Visa Application Facility) website and print the summary sheet
  • Book an appointment and submit documents in person at the VFS Global Ireland Visa Application Centre in Islamabad
  • Pay the visa fee and VFS service charge at the centre
  • Biometric data is collected during the appointment
  • Standard processing takes approximately 8 weeks, depending on application volume and complexity

Fees & processing time

  • Visa fee: EUR 60 for single entry, EUR 100 for multiple entry
  • VFS Global service fee: approximately PKR 5,500-7,000 additional
  • Total estimated cost: roughly USD 90-150 equivalent depending on entry type
  • Standard processing: around 8 weeks from a complete application
  • No official express/priority service for Irish visas from Pakistan

Tips for Pakistan travelers

  • Apply well in advance (at least 3 months before travel), as Ireland's standard processing time is longer than most Schengen countries
  • Common rejection reasons: insufficient funds, unclear ties to Pakistan, incomplete host/sponsor documentation
  • An Irish visa does not permit travel within the Schengen area; a separate Schengen visa is needed for onward EU travel
  • Keep a copy of the AVATS application summary and all submitted documents
  • Extensions of stay inside Ireland must be applied for through the Irish Immigration Service Delivery before the visa expires
