  • Proof of accommodation (hotel booking or invitation letter)
  • Confirmed round-trip flight itinerary

Visa types

  • Tourist Visa (Visa de Turismo, category 9-IX): single or multiple entry, typically valid for up to 90 days per stay
  • Business Visa: for short commercial visits, similar validity requirements
  • Transit Visa: for travelers connecting through Ecuador to a third country
  • Most Pakistani leisure travelers apply for the Tourist Visa.

How to apply online

  • Register an account on the Ecuadorian Ministry of Foreign Affairs e-visa platform
  • Complete the online application form and upload passport scan, photo, and supporting documents
  • Pay the visa fee online by credit or debit card
  • The Ministry reviews the application remotely, since Pakistan has no resident Ecuadorian consulate
  • Once approved, the visa is issued electronically as a PDF to print and carry along with your passport

Fees & processing time

  • Visa fee: approximately USD 50-60
  • No separate service center fee, as the process is entirely online
  • Standard processing time: 10 to 15 working days
  • No official express service is currently offered

Tips for Pakistan travelers

  • Apply at least 4-6 weeks before your intended travel date, given remote review by the Ministry
  • Common rejection reasons include insufficient financial proof and unclear travel purpose
  • Make sure uploaded documents are clear and in color, as blurry scans can delay or cause rejection
  • Keep a printed copy of the approved e-visa and flight/hotel bookings for immigration checks
  • Extensions of stay can be requested at Ecuador's Direccion de Extranjeria before the visa expires
