  • Category D Visa (long stay): for work, study, or family reunification, valid beyond 90 days
  • Pro-visa, for Pakistani nationals already holding a valid Schengen, UK, or US visa: a simplified fast-track process available at some Cyprus missions
  • Most Pakistani tourists apply for the short-stay Category C visa.

How to apply

  • Book an appointment with VFS Global Cyprus in Islamabad or Karachi, or directly with the Cyprus High Commission
  • Complete the online application form and print the confirmation
  • Attend the appointment with all documents, submit biometrics, and pay the fee
  • The application is forwarded to the Cyprus Ministry of Foreign Affairs for a decision
  • Once approved, the visa sticker is affixed to the passport for collection or courier return

Fees & processing time

  • Visa fee: approximately EUR 60 (about USD 65) for a short-stay Category C visa
  • VFS Global service fee: approximately PKR 6,000-8,000 (roughly USD 20-28)
  • Total estimated cost: around USD 85-95
  • Standard processing time: 10 to 15 working days
  • No official express service, though holders of a prior Schengen/UK/US visa may be processed faster under the pro-visa scheme

Tips for Pakistan travelers

  • Apply at least 3-4 weeks ahead of travel
  • If you already hold a valid Schengen, UK, or US visa, ask about the pro-visa fast-track option, which can significantly shorten processing
  • Common rejection reasons include weak financial documentation and an unclear travel purpose
  • Keep hotel bookings and return flights flexible or refundable until the visa is issued
  • To extend a stay inside Cyprus, apply at the Civil Registry and Migration Department before the visa expires
