Guide last updated October 19, 2026. Always verify with official sources before travel.

What you need

  • Passport valid for at least 3 months beyond the intended departure date, issued within the last 10 years, with at least 2 blank pages
  • Completed and signed Schengen visa application form
  • Two recent passport-size photos (35x45mm, white background) per Schengen specifications
  • Confirmed round-trip flight reservation
  • Proof of accommodation for the entire stay
  • Travel (Schengen) health insurance with minimum coverage of EUR 30,000
  • Bank statements for the last 6 months and a letter from your employer or business registration documents
  • Biometrics (fingerprints and photo) collected in person at the VFS Global application center

Visa types

  • Schengen Visa Type C (single entry): for one trip, max stay 90 days within a 180-day period
  • Schengen Visa Type C (multiple entry): issued to travelers with a good visa history, can allow multiple visits over 1-5 years
  • Airport Transit Visa (Type A): only needed for transiting through a Croatian airport without entering Schengen territory, rarely required for Pakistanis
  • Most first-time Pakistani applicants receive a single-entry Schengen visa.

How to apply

  • Book an appointment at the VFS Global Croatia visa application center in Islamabad, Karachi, or Lahore
  • Complete the Schengen application form online and print it
  • Attend the appointment with all supporting documents and pay the visa fee
  • Biometrics are captured at the center
  • The file is forwarded to the Croatian embassy for a decision; applicants may occasionally be called for an interview
  • Once approved, the visa sticker is affixed to the passport and can be collected or couriered back

Fees & processing time

  • Schengen visa fee: EUR 90 (about USD 95-100) for adults, EUR 45 for children aged 6-12
  • VFS Global service fee: approximately PKR 7,000-9,000 (roughly USD 25-30), paid separately
  • Total estimated cost: around USD 125-140
  • Standard processing time: 15 calendar days, though it can extend up to 30-45 days during peak season
  • No official express/priority service is offered for Schengen visas

Tips for Pakistan travelers

  • Apply at least 3-4 weeks before travel, and no earlier than 6 months in advance
  • Common rejection reasons include insufficient travel insurance coverage, weak financial proof, and an unclear purpose of travel
  • Book refundable or flexible flights and hotel reservations until the visa is approved, since cancellation policies can be checked by the embassy
  • Submit documents translated into English where required, as untranslated Urdu documents can delay processing
  • To extend a stay inside Croatia, you must apply at the local police administration (MUP) before the visa expires, though extensions are rarely granted for tourist visas
