Guide last updated October 19, 2026. Always verify with official sources before travel.

What you need

  • Passport valid for at least 6 months beyond the date of entry, with at least 2 blank pages
  • Completed Congolese visa application form
  • Two recent passport-size photos with a white background
  • Invitation letter from a host or company in Congo, or confirmed hotel booking
  • Proof of yellow fever vaccination (International Certificate of Vaccination)
  • Proof of sufficient funds, such as bank statements for the last 3 months
  • Confirmed round-trip flight reservation
  • Biometrics are not generally required, though some visa agents may request fingerprints

Visa types

  • Tourist visa: single or multiple entry, typically valid for 30 to 90 days, for holiday or family visits
  • Business visa: for commercial meetings, requires an invitation letter from a Congolese company
  • Transit visa: for travelers connecting through Congo to another country, short validity of a few days
  • Pakistani travelers most commonly apply for the single-entry tourist or business visa.

How to apply

  • Submit the application in person or through an authorized visa agent, since Pakistan does not host a Congolese embassy and applications are usually routed through a regional mission
  • Provide the completed form, photos, passport, yellow fever certificate, and supporting documents
  • Pay the visa fee by cash or bank transfer, as instructed by the embassy or agent
  • Attend an interview if requested
  • Standard processing takes about 5 to 10 working days; some agents offer an expedited service for an extra fee

Fees & processing time

  • Single-entry tourist/business visa fee: approximately USD 100-150, depending on the issuing mission
  • Agent service fee, if using a visa facilitator in the absence of a local embassy: an additional USD 50-100
  • Total estimated cost: USD 150-250
  • Standard processing: 5 to 10 working days
  • Express processing (where offered): 2 to 3 working days for an extra fee

Tips for Pakistan travelers

  • Apply at least 3-4 weeks ahead of travel since Pakistan has no resident Congolese embassy and documents must be couriered to a regional mission
  • Get the yellow fever vaccination at least 10 days before departure, since it is strictly checked on arrival
  • Common rejection reasons include an expired or incomplete yellow fever certificate and a weak invitation letter
  • Keep notarized copies of your invitation letter and hotel booking, as immigration officers may ask to see them
  • Visa extensions must be requested at the Direction Generale de la Migration in Brazzaville before the visa expires
