Entry and extension process

  • Entry under visa exemption: On arrival at an approved entry point, present your passport. The border officer stamps you for 30 days (15 days if entering by land). You may be asked to show onward travel and proof of funds.
  • Extension to stay beyond 30 days: You can apply at a Thai Immigration Office (in Bangkok or provincial offices) using form TM7; bring your passport, one passport photo, and a 1,900 THB extension fee. Extensions are commonly granted the same day, up to an additional 30 days.
