What you need

  • Passport validity must be at least 6 months from date of entry and have at least one blank visa page.
  • Online e-Visa application via the official portal on minfor.gov.gy; no DS-160 or VAF1A required.
  • Financial proof: a recent bank statement showing available funds; recommended minimum around USD 1000 for the trip.
  • Accommodation and return ticket: confirmed hotel booking or invitation letter and a return or onward travel itinerary.
  • Photo spec: passport-style photo 2x2 inches (51x51 mm), white background, front view, no glasses unless medically required.
  • Biometrics: no in-person biometrics required for the online e-Visa; you upload a photo and signature; biometrics may be requested on arrival by immigration if needed.
  • Travel health insurance: not mandatory but strongly recommended.

Application process

  • How to apply online:
  • Go to the official Guyana e-Visa portal via minfor.gov.gy and create an account.
  • Complete the visa application form with accurate personal data matching your passport.
  • Upload required documents (scanned passport data page, photo, invitation or hotel booking, return flight itinerary).
  • Pay the visa fee online using a credit/debit card or other accepted method (USD or GYD).
  • Submit the application and wait for processing (typical 2-3 business days).
  • You will receive an approval email; print a copy or save the e-Visa-linked passport data and present it on arrival; the e-Visa is linked to your passport.
