  • Return or onward ticket
  • GBAO permit required separately for travel to the Gorno-Badakhshan region
  • Travel insurance recommended
  • No in-person biometrics required for the e-Visa itself, though standard border checks apply

Visa types

  • Tourist e-Visa: single entry, up to 45 days
  • Business e-Visa: single or double entry, up to 45-90 days, invitation letter may be required
  • GBAO permit add-on: for travel to the Pamir region, applied together with or after the e-Visa

  • Apply at the official e-visa portal (evisa.tj)
  • Create an account, fill in the application, upload required documents, and pay the fee online by card
  • Receive the approved e-Visa by email as a PDF to print and present on arrival

  • Processing: 3-5 working days, with an expedited option in some cases for an added fee

Tips for China travelers
