Spain Visa for China Citizens 2026

Chinese citizens need a Schengen short-stay visa to enter Spain, applied for through BLS International visa application centers, with a fee of EUR 90 and standard processing of 15 calendar days.

What you need

  • Passport valid 3+ months beyond intended departure, with 2 blank pages
  • Schengen visa application form
  • Two recent passport photos, 35x45mm, white background
  • Travel/medical insurance with minimum EUR 30,000 coverage
  • Round-trip flight itinerary
  • Hotel bookings or invitation letter
  • Bank statements for the last 3-6 months showing sufficient funds
  • Employment certificate and approved leave letter
  • Biometrics (fingerprints and photo) collected in person at the visa application center

Visa types

  • Schengen Tourist/Visit visa (Type C): single, double, or multiple entry, up to 90 days within any 180-day period
  • Business visa (Type C): multiple entry
  • Student visa (Type D): long-stay, separate national process
  • Work visa (Type D): national long-stay, requires a separate work permit

How to apply

  • Apply via the BLS International Spain Visa Application Centre in China
  • Book an appointment online, submit documents and biometrics in person, and pay the visa fee
  • Standard visa fee: EUR 90 (children 6-12: EUR 45)
  • BLS service fee: approximately RMB 200-250 additional
  • Processing time: 15 calendar days standard, can extend to 30-60 days in complex cases
  • Interview is generally not required but may be requested
  • Approval results in a visa sticker affixed to the passport

Tips for China travelers

  • Book the BLS appointment early, as slots fill quickly in Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou
  • If visiting multiple Schengen countries, apply at the consulate of the country where you will spend the most days
  • Overstaying or visa violations can affect future Schengen applications
