China nationals can obtain a Myanmar Tourist Visa on Arrival at designated international airports for tourism; fee is USD 50 per person, processing at the counter typically 15–60 minutes, and stay is up to 28 days per entry.

What you need

  • Passport validity: Passport must be valid for at least 6 months from date of entry into Myanmar and have at least 2 blank visa pages.
  • Specific forms: For visa on arrival there is no pre-application form; you will complete the Arrival/Declaration form at the desk.
  • Financial proof: There is no mandatory bank statement or formal proof of funds required for visa on arrival; you should have enough funds to cover your stay.
  • Accommodation and return ticket: It is recommended to have a confirmed hotel booking for the first night and a return or onward ticket.
  • Photo spec: Carry one recent passport photo (2x2 inches, 51x51 mm) with a white background; not always requested but helpful.
  • Biometrics: Border authorities may collect biometric data at entry if required; there is no separate biometrics submission beforehand for VOA.
  • Travel health insurance: Not mandatory but strongly recommended; ensure international coverage for medical expenses.

Visa on arrival

  • Which ports: Yangon International Airport, Mandalay International Airport, Nay Pyi Taw International Airport.
  • How to apply: Upon arrival at an eligible airport, proceed to the visa on arrival counters, fill in the Arrival/Declaration form if not prefilled, and present your passport. Pay the visa on arrival fee of USD 50 in cash. The immigration officer will stamp your visa and you proceed to the immigration desk.
  • Documents you may need: Passport, a printed or digital copy of your travel details, hotel booking for the first night (if requested), and sometimes a passport photo.
  • Fees and currencies: USD 50 cash per person; some airports may accept Kyat or other currencies at the discretion of the counter. Check current guidance at the MOI portal and MOFA site before you travel.
