What you need

  • Passport validity: Your passport must be valid for at least 3 months beyond your planned departure from the Schengen Area and have been issued within the last 10 years; it must also have at least two blank pages.
  • Specific forms: Schengen visa application form (Schengen visa for Germany) – completed and signed; can be submitted with the appointment either on paper or via the consulate's online portal.
  • Financial proof: Bank statements or other proof of funds showing at least 45 EUR per day of stay for the entire trip, plus enough to cover accommodation costs; embedded funds may be required for the duration of the trip.
  • Accommodation and return ticket: Confirmed hotel bookings for the entire stay or an official invitation letter from a host in Germany; and a return or onward travel reservation.
  • Photo: Two recent passport-style photos (35x45 mm) with a neutral expression and white background.
