  • Biometrics: Biometrics are not required as part of the online e-Visa application; if requested, you will be guided to provide biometrics at a Botswana embassy/consulate or visa center.
  • Travel health insurance: Recommended but not mandatory; ensure coverage for Botswana during your stay; check any vaccination or health entry requirements.

  • Transit or other: If available, may require separate consular process; check the official portal for any updates.

How to apply online

  • How to apply online: 1) Go to the Botswana e-Visa portal at https://www.gov.bw/ and sign in or create an account. 2) Complete the online application form with applicant details and travel plans. 3) Upload supporting documents: passport biodata page, digital passport photograph, hotel booking or invitation letter, return/onward flight ticket, and bank statements or other proof of funds. 4) Pay the e-Visa fee online using a credit or debit card (local currency equivalent shown during payment; USD amounts shown on the portal). 5) Submit the application and wait for processing; typical processing time is 3–5 working days. 6) You will receive the approval verdict by email as a downloadable PDF e-Visa; print a copy to carry and present on arrival. 7) On arrival, present your passport and the e-Visa approval; the e-Visa is linked to your passport and does not require a physical sticker.
