Fees & processing time

  • Single-entry tourist e-visa: USD 50
  • East Africa Tourist Visa: USD 100 (covers Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda)
  • Standard processing: 3-5 working days
  • No official express service; apply at least 1-2 weeks ahead

Tips for South Africa travelers

  • Apply at least two weeks before travel to allow for processing and any requests for additional documents
  • Ensure your yellow fever certificate is valid and matches your passport details exactly, as mismatches are a common rejection reason
  • If also visiting Kenya and/or Rwanda, the East Africa Tourist Visa can save money and hassle versus separate applications
  • Keep a printed copy of your e-visa approval, as it is checked before boarding and on arrival
