  • Proof of accommodation (hotel booking or invitation letter)
  • Return or onward flight ticket
  • Proof of sufficient funds (bank statement, last 3 months)
  • Travel health insurance covering Ivory Coast is recommended
  • No biometrics required for the e-visa itself, though officers may take a photo/fingerprints on arrival at Abidjan airport

Visa types

  • Tourist e-visa: single entry, valid 90 days from issue, max stay 90 days, fee approx XOF 73,000 (~USD 120)
  • Multiple-entry e-visa: valid 6 months, multiple entries of up to 90 days each, fee approx XOF 146,000 (~USD 240)

How to apply online

  • Apply at the official portal snedai.ci at least 72 hours before departure
  • Create an account and complete the application form with passport and trip details
  • Upload your passport photo page, passport photo, yellow fever certificate, and accommodation proof
  • Pay the fee online by Visa or Mastercard
  • Approval arrives by email as a PDF — print it and carry it with your passport; border officers can also verify it electronically
  • Processing normally takes 48–72 hours; there is no guaranteed rush option

Fees & processing time

  • Single-entry tourist e-visa: approx XOF 73,000 (~USD 120)
  • Multiple-entry e-visa (6 months): approx XOF 146,000 (~USD 240)
  • No separate VFS/BLS service fee — application is direct through the government portal
  • Standard processing: 48–72 hours
  • No expedited processing option currently offered; apply at least a week ahead during peak travel season

Tips for South Africa travelers

  • Apply online 1–2 weeks before departure to avoid last-minute portal delays
  • The yellow fever certificate is checked on arrival — travelers without it can be denied entry or vaccinated on the spot at the airport
  • Common rejection reasons: blurry passport scan, mismatched name spelling, missing accommodation proof
  • Keep a printed copy of the e-visa approval plus your yellow fever certificate in your hand luggage
  • Extensions can be requested at the Direction Générale de la Police Nationale in Abidjan before the e-visa expires
  • There is no Ivorian embassy in South Africa — the e-visa system is the only application route
