What you need

  • Passport valid for at least 6 months from date of entry
  • No visa application form for visa-free entry
  • Proof of onward or return ticket
  • Proof of accommodation
  • Proof of funds: THB 20,000 per person or THB 40,000 per family, occasionally checked
  • Travel health insurance recommended, not mandatory for this exemption
  • A completed Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) submitted online before arrival

  • Longer stays, work, or study require Tourist Visas (60 days, extendable) or Non-Immigrant visas obtained in advance from the Thai Embassy in Berlin

  • Extensions must be filed before the 60 days expire - overstaying incurs a fine of THB 500 per day
  • For longer stays such as retirement, work, or study, apply for the appropriate visa at the Thai Embassy in Berlin before travel, since visa-free entry cannot be converted on the fly
