Visa Free

Guide last updated September 10, 2026. Always verify with official sources before travel.

What you need

  • Passport valid for the full intended stay (at least 6 months' validity recommended)
  • Seychelles Traveller Declaration Form (STDF), completed online before departure at seychelles.govtas.com
  • Proof of accommodation (hotel or registered guesthouse booking confirmation)
  • Return or onward flight ticket
  • Proof of sufficient funds for the stay (may be requested by the immigration officer)
  • No photo required for entry
  • Biometrics: none required for tourist entry beyond standard arrival fingerprint/photo capture
  • Travel health insurance: strongly recommended, not mandatory

Visa types

  • Visitor's Permit: the only entry category for tourism, issued free of charge on arrival
  • Single or multiple entries within validity; initial grant up to 90 days (officers may grant less)
  • Extendable in-country up to a maximum of 12 months total per calendar year
  • No separate business or student visa for short stays; longer work stays require a Gainful Occupation Permit arranged by a Seychelles employer

Entry conditions

  • German citizens may stay visa-free for up to 90 days per visit, extendable
  • The Visitor's Permit is stamped into the passport at the airport free of charge once the STDF is verified
  • No paid employment is allowed on a Visitor's Permit
  • Extensions are handled at the Immigration Division office in Victoria, Mahe, before the current permit expires
  • Overstaying is fined and can affect future entry approval

Fees & processing time

  • Visitor's Permit on arrival: free of charge (no visa fee)
  • STDF online registration: free, takes about 5 minutes before departure
  • Extensions in-country: SCR 500-2,000 (roughly USD 35-140) depending on length requested
  • No fixed processing time - approval happens at the immigration desk on arrival, usually within minutes

Tips for Germany travelers

  • Complete the Seychelles Traveller Declaration Form online at least 24 hours before departure to avoid check-in delays
  • Airlines will not board passengers without a confirmed STDF and proof of accommodation
  • Book and keep confirmation of your first night's accommodation before travel
  • Request any extension at the Victoria immigration office a few days before your current permit expires
  • Keep the passport valid well beyond the return date, as some airlines apply their own 6-month rule
