  • Enter through a designated port (Yangon, Mandalay, Naypyidaw airports, or specified land/sea borders)

Fees & processing time

  • Tourist e-Visa: USD 50, processing 3-5 working days
  • Business e-Visa: USD 70, processing 3-5 working days
  • No official express service; applying at least 2 weeks ahead is advised
  • Embassy sticker visa in Berlin: similar fees, processing 5-7 working days

Tips for Germany travelers

  • Apply for the e-Visa at least 1-2 weeks before departure to allow for processing delays
  • Common rejection reason: blurry passport photo or mismatched personal details between passport and form
  • Print the e-Visa approval letter - immigration officers require the physical copy on arrival
  • Check current travel advisories, as parts of Myanmar have travel restrictions due to internal conflict; the German Foreign Office (Auswaertiges Amt) publishes region-specific warnings
  • Extensions inside Myanmar are limited and handled by the Myanmar Immigration Department in Yangon
