Guide last updated September 9, 2026. Always verify with official sources before travel.

What you need

  • Passport valid for at least 6 months beyond your planned departure date, with at least one blank visa page
  • Completed online e-Visa application form
  • Digital passport-style photo (color, plain white background, taken within the last 6 months) uploaded during the application
  • Scanned copy of your passport bio page
  • Proof of accommodation in Guinea (hotel booking or invitation letter)
  • Return or onward flight ticket
  • Proof of sufficient funds for the stay
  • No in-person biometrics required for the e-Visa itself; fingerprints/photo may be taken on arrival at Conakry airport
  • Travel health insurance is recommended; proof of yellow fever vaccination is mandatory for entry

Visa types

  • e-Tourist/e-Business visa: single entry, valid for use within 90 days of issue, permits a stay of up to 30 days, approximate fee USD 80-90
  • e-Visa multiple entry (business): valid for use within 90 days of issue, permits multiple entries with stays of up to 30 days each, approximate fee USD 100-120
  • Longer-term work or residence requires a separate visa applied for in person through the Guinean embassy in Berlin

How to apply online

  • Apply through Guinea's official e-Visa portal, selecting entry point (Conakry International Airport is the main gateway)
  • Fill in personal details, trip dates, and accommodation information
  • Upload your passport photo page and a digital passport photo
  • Pay the visa fee online by credit/debit card (fee is non-refundable if the application is rejected)
  • Processing typically takes 3-5 business days; you receive an approval by email as a PDF to print and carry
  • Present the printed e-Visa approval, passport, and yellow fever certificate to immigration on arrival in Conakry

Fees & processing time

  • Single-entry e-Visa: approximately USD 80-90
  • Multiple-entry business e-Visa: approximately USD 100-120
  • No separate service fee since the application is filed directly through the government portal
  • Standard processing: 3-5 business days
  • Expedited processing is not officially offered; apply at least 2 weeks before travel to allow for delays

Tips for Germany travelers

  • Apply well in advance (2-3 weeks) since processing times can run longer than the stated 3-5 business days during high season
  • Bring both a digital and a printed copy of your e-Visa approval - some airline check-in desks in Germany request to see it before boarding
  • A common rejection reason is a blurry or non-compliant passport photo - use a plain white background and no glasses or headwear
  • The Guinean embassy in Berlin can assist with questions but does not process the e-Visa itself, since it is an online-only system
  • Make sure your yellow fever vaccination certificate is valid, as it is checked alongside your visa on arrival
