What you need

  • Passport valid for the full intended stay (recommended 6 months validity, though Grenada officially only requires validity covering your stay)
  • No visa or entry form required in advance; only a completed Grenada immigration/customs arrival card, handed out on the flight or at the airport
  • Proof of onward or return travel (a confirmed return/onward ticket)
  • Proof of accommodation (hotel booking or address of host)
  • Sufficient funds for the stay (border officers may ask for evidence, e.g. bank statement or credit card)
  • No mandatory biometrics for short tourist stays
  • Travel health insurance is not mandatory but strongly recommended, since public healthcare for visitors is limited

Visa types

  • Tourist/visitor entry stamp: granted free of charge on arrival for up to 90 days, single or multiple entry within that period, covers tourism, family visits, and short business meetings
  • No separate "visa" is issued for German passport holders on short stays - entry is authorized by immigration stamp only
  • Longer stays or work require a residence/work permit, applied for through Grenada's Ministry of Foreign Affairs before travel

Entry conditions

  • Up to 90 days stay per visit as a visitor; the immigration officer at Maurice Bishop International Airport (GND) stamps the passport with the authorized duration
  • No paid employment is permitted on the visitor stamp
  • On arrival you must show your return/onward ticket, proof of accommodation, and be able to state the purpose of your visit
  • Extensions beyond 90 days (up to a maximum of 6 months total) can be requested at the Immigration Department in St. George's before the initial stamp expires, fee around XCD 100-200 (about USD 37-74)
  • Overstaying without an extension can result in fines or being barred from future entry

Tips for Germany travelers

  • Carry printed proof of your return flight and hotel booking - officers do check these on arrival, especially for one-way tickets
  • Common issue for German travelers: arriving with a one-way ticket and no proof of onward travel can lead to extra questioning or, rarely, denied boarding by the airline
  • Grenada is not part of the Schengen area, so this stay does not count against any Schengen day allowance
  • Direct flights from Germany are rare; most routes connect via the UK, the Netherlands, or the US, so double-check any US transit visa requirements separately
