French citizens apply for a Pakistani Tourist e-Visa online through the Pakistan Online Visa System before travel - fee around USD 35-60, processing 7-10 working days, valid 30 days and extendable.

What you need

  • Passport valid at least 6 months beyond the trip, with 2 blank pages
  • Digital passport-style photo
  • Scanned bio-data page of the passport
  • Hotel booking confirmation, or an invitation letter if visiting family/friends (Visit e-Visa category)
  • Recent bank statement showing sufficient funds
  • Biometrics are not required in advance but may be captured on arrival at some airports

Visa types

  • Tourist e-Visa - single entry, 30 days, extendable up to 90 days inside Pakistan
  • Business e-Visa - requires a company invitation letter
  • Visit e-Visa - for travelers invited by Pakistani family or friends, requires their CNIC/passport copy and invitation

How to apply online

  • Create an account on the Pakistan Online Visa System (onlinemfa.gov.pk / NADRA e-visa portal)
  • Complete the application form and upload all required documents
  • Pay the visa fee online by card
  • Processing typically takes 7-10 working days (tourist applications are sometimes faster, around 3-5 days)
  • The approved e-visa is emailed as a PDF - print it and present it at immigration on arrival

Fees & processing time

  • Tourist e-Visa (single entry): approximately USD 35
  • Multiple-entry or longer-validity options: up to around USD 90
  • Standard processing: 7-10 working days; no reliable paid express option
  • Minor online service/bank charges may apply on top of the visa fee

Tips for France travelers

  • Apply 2-3 weeks before travel to leave margin for processing delays
  • The Visit e-Visa category needs a formal invitation from your Pakistani host, including their ID copy
  • Some regions of Pakistan require an additional No Objection Certificate (NOC) for foreign travelers - check before planning an itinerary outside major cities
  • The French embassy in Islamabad can help with document attestation but not with expediting the e-visa
