Niger Visa for France Citizens 2026

Visa Required

French citizens need a sticker visa for Niger, applied for at a Nigerien diplomatic mission (there is no longer an embassy in Paris, so applications typically go through Brussels or Berlin) or via Niger's e-Visa portal where available - fee around EUR 100-140.

Guide last updated September 23, 2026. Always verify with official sources before travel.

What you need

  • Passport valid at least 6 months beyond the stay, with 2 blank pages
  • Completed visa application form
  • 2 recent passport photos
  • Mandatory yellow fever vaccination certificate
  • Proof of accommodation or a formal invitation letter
  • Proof of sufficient funds and a return/onward ticket
  • Biometrics (fingerprints) are captured at the diplomatic mission or on arrival, depending on the mission

Visa types

  • Tourist visa - single entry, typically 30 days validity
  • Business visa - single or multiple entry, requires an inviting company letter
  • Transit visa - short validity for onward travel

How to apply

  • Niger has no consular office in France - applications are generally routed through Niger's embassy in Brussels or Berlin, or through the e-Visa portal when accepting applications from your region
  • Submit the form, photos, yellow fever certificate and supporting documents in person or by courier
  • Pay the visa fee by the method the mission specifies (often cash or bank transfer)
  • Once issued, the visa is a sticker in your passport, or an e-visa printout to present on arrival at Niamey (Diori Hamani International Airport)

Fees & processing time

  • Visa fee: approximately EUR 100-140 depending on the issuing mission and visa duration
  • Standard processing: 5-10 working days
  • Express processing is rarely offered and depends on the individual mission

Tips for France travelers

  • Start the process well ahead of travel since the nearest mission may not be in France
  • The yellow fever certificate is strictly checked on arrival - carry the original International Certificate of Vaccination
  • Check the current French MFA travel advisory, as parts of Niger carry elevated security warnings and travel restrictions
  • Keep photocopies of all submitted documents separate from the originals
