Guide last updated October 19, 2026. Always verify with official sources before travel.

What you need

  • Passport valid for at least 6 months beyond your planned entry date, with at least one blank page
  • Completed visa application form (available online or at the port of entry)
  • A recent passport-style photo
  • Proof of accommodation and return/onward flight ticket
  • Proof of sufficient funds for the stay may be requested
  • Yellow fever vaccination certificate if arriving from or transiting a country with yellow fever risk
  • Travel health insurance is recommended but not mandatory

Visa types

  • Single-entry visa: valid for a stay of up to 30/90 days, fee USD 30
  • Double-entry visa: fee USD 45
  • KAZA Univisa (covers Zimbabwe and Zambia, plus day trips to Botswana's Chobe): single entry, 30-day validity, fee USD 50

Visa on arrival

  • Visas are issued at major airports (Harare, Victoria Falls, Bulawayo) and land borders
  • Present your passport, photo, and supporting documents at the immigration counter and select your visa type (single, double, or KAZA Univisa)
  • Pay the fee in cash (USD preferred) or by card where card facilities are available
  • Processing is done on the spot; expect a short queue of 15-30 minutes at busier ports like Victoria Falls
  • Alternatively, apply online in advance at evisa.gov.zw to reduce time spent at the immigration counter on arrival

Fees & processing time

  • Single-entry visa fee: USD 30; double-entry: USD 45; KAZA Univisa: USD 50, payable in cash or online
  • No separate VFS/BLS service fee for on-arrival processing; the online e-visa option has no extra service charge either
  • Total estimated cost: USD 30-55 depending on visa type chosen
  • On-arrival processing time: issued within 15-30 minutes in person
  • Online e-visa processing time: typically 3-5 business days if applied for in advance

Tips for Egypt travelers

  • If visiting Victoria Falls on both the Zimbabwe and Zambia sides, the KAZA Univisa is usually the most cost-effective choice
  • Common issues on arrival: not having small USD bills for the fee, or an unclear onward travel plan
  • Applying online via evisa.gov.zw ahead of time can save queueing time, especially during peak tourist season
  • Carry your yellow fever certificate if coming from an at-risk country, as this is checked alongside the visa
  • Visa extensions can be arranged at immigration offices in Harare or Bulawayo before the initial visa expires
