Guide last updated October 19, 2026. Always verify with official sources before travel.

What you need

  • Passport valid for at least 6 months beyond your planned departure from Vanuatu
  • Digital passport photo uploaded during the online application
  • Scanned copy of passport bio-data page
  • Confirmed onward or return flight ticket
  • Proof of accommodation booking in Vanuatu
  • Evidence of sufficient funds for the stay (bank statement or equivalent) may be requested
  • Travel/health insurance is recommended; not mandatory for the eVisa itself

Visa types

  • Tourist eVisa: single entry, stay up to 30 days (extendable), fee approx. USD 82
  • Business eVisa: single entry, stay up to 30 days, requires a supporting letter from the inviting company, fee approx. USD 82
  • Visitor permit extension (applied for in-country): extends stay up to a total of 4 months

How to apply online

  • Visit Vanuatu's official government portal at gov.vu and locate the Online eVisa application section
  • Create an account and complete the application form with passport and travel details
  • Upload your passport scan, photo, and accommodation/flight proof
  • Pay the eVisa fee online by credit/debit card
  • Receive the eVisa approval by email, usually within 3-5 business days
  • Print the approval and present it with your passport at check-in and on arrival in Port Vila

Fees & processing time

  • eVisa fee: approx. USD 82 for a single-entry tourist eVisa, paid online
  • No separate agency/service fee since applications go directly through the government portal
  • Total estimated cost: USD 82-90 including the card payment processing charge
  • Standard processing time: 3-5 business days
  • No official express service; apply at least 2 weeks ahead during peak travel seasons

Tips for Egypt travelers

  • Apply online 2-3 weeks before departure, since onward connections to Vanuatu (usually via Australia or Fiji) require advance booking
  • Common rejection reasons: unclear accommodation details or missing onward flight confirmation
  • Double-check your passport's remaining validity before applying, as short validity is a frequent cause of delay
  • Carry both a printed and a digital copy of the eVisa approval letter for check-in at transit airports
  • Extensions beyond the initial 30 days can be requested in person at the Vanuatu Immigration office in Port Vila
