What you need

  • Passport valid 6+ months beyond the stay
  • Completed visa application form
  • Two biometric passport photos
  • Confirmed round-trip flight itinerary
  • Hotel bookings covering the full stay
  • Bank statement showing sufficient funds
  • Biometrics: fingerprints and photo taken at the visa application center
  • Travel health insurance: recommended

Visa types

  • Short-stay tourist visa - single or multiple entry, up to 90 days within 180 days, fee about USD 60
  • Business visa - similar validity, fee about USD 60-80
  • Student and work visas processed separately with additional documentation

How to apply

  • Checking evisa.gov.tr confirms Egyptian citizens are not eligible for the e-Visa, so applicants must book an appointment through the Turkish Consulate's visa application center in Cairo, submit the full document checklist in person, pay the fee, and provide biometrics. Standard processing is 7-10 working days, and the passport with the visa sticker is returned in person or by courier.

Fees & processing time

  • Visa fee: about USD 60
  • Consular/VFS-style service fee: about USD 15-20
  • Total cost: about USD 75-80
  • Standard processing: 7-10 working days
  • Express service (3-5 days) available for an added USD 25-30

Tips for Egypt travelers

  • Book the consulate appointment several weeks in advance, since slots fill quickly. Common rejection reasons are insufficient bank balance, inconsistent travel history, and an unclear accommodation plan for the full trip. Apply directly through the official consulate channel to avoid unauthorized agents. Extensions are rarely granted inside Turkey, so plan the full stay before applying.
