Fill in the arrival card, present the passport and return ticket at the immigration counter, and pay USD 30 cash (exact change recommended, cards not reliably accepted). Fingerprints and a photo are taken, and the visa is issued in 15-30 minutes. Queue tip: carry exact USD cash since change is often unavailable.

Tips for Egypt travelers

  • Carry small USD bills, since ATMs in Dili are limited and you shouldn't rely on withdrawing cash after arrival. Common issues are not having a printed return/onward ticket and too few blank passport pages. Extensions must be requested at the Immigration Directorate in Dili before the 30 days expire, with further extensions possible up to 90 days total.
