What you need

  • Passport valid for at least 6 months
  • Digital passport photo in JPEG format
  • Proof of accommodation in Somalia (hotel booking)
  • Return or onward flight ticket
  • Letter of invitation if visiting for business purposes
  • No biometrics required for the e-Visa; fingerprints taken on arrival at Mogadishu Aden Adde International Airport
  • Travel health insurance recommended; proof of yellow fever vaccination may be requested

  • Visit the official Somalia e-Visa portal (linked from the government site, somalia.gov.so)
  • Create an account and complete the online application with passport and travel details
  • Upload a passport scan and digital photo
  • Pay the visa fee online by card (USD)
  • Processing time: 3-5 business days; approval sent by email as a PDF
  • Print the e-Visa approval and present it with your passport at Mogadishu airport immigration
