Saudi Arabia Visa for Egypt Citizens 2026

e-Visa / eTA

Egyptian citizens need an e-Visa for Saudi Arabia, applied for online through the official visa portal before departure.

Guide last updated October 18, 2026. Always verify with official sources before travel.

What you need

  • Passport valid for at least 6 months beyond the intended stay.
  • Completed online e-Visa application via the official portal
  • Confirmed round-trip flight itinerary
  • Proof of accommodation (hotel booking) for the stay
  • Evidence of sufficient funds
  • Digital passport-style photo, white background, uploaded during the application
  • No in-person biometrics for most tourist e-Visas; some applicants may be asked for fingerprints on arrival
  • Mandatory travel health insurance, typically bundled into the e-Visa fee and covering COVID-19 and general medical needs

Visa types

  • Tourist e-Visa: multiple entry, valid for 1 year from issue, permits stays up to 90 days per visit, fee approximately SAR 440 (about USD 117) including mandatory insurance
  • Umrah visa: separate application through the Nusuk platform, for religious pilgrimage, validity and fee vary by season
  • Business visa: processed through the Saudi embassy or Enjaz platform, requires an invitation letter from a Saudi sponsor, fee varies
  • Visit visa (family/friends): sponsored route via Enjaz, requires a Saudi national or resident sponsor

How to apply online

  • Apply at the official Saudi e-Visa portal (visa.mofa.gov.sa)
  • Steps: create an account, complete the personal and travel details form, upload passport bio page and photo, pay the fee, submit
  • Fee: approximately SAR 440 (about USD 117), including mandatory travel insurance, payable by credit/debit card
  • Processing time: typically 24-72 hours, often faster
  • Approval is emailed and also linked to your passport electronically; carry a printed or digital copy for check-in and border control

Fees & processing time

  • e-Visa fee: approximately SAR 440 (USD 117), inclusive of mandatory insurance
  • No separate VFS/BLS fee for the tourist e-Visa since it is processed directly online
  • Total cost estimate: USD 117-130 including card processing
  • Standard processing time: 24-72 hours
  • Express processing is not separately offered but turnaround is already fast; apply at least a week ahead to allow for any document correction

Tips for Egypt travelers

  • Apply at least one to two weeks before travel to leave buffer time for corrections
  • Common rejection reasons: mismatched personal details between passport and application, unclear or outdated photo
  • Use only the official visa.mofa.gov.sa portal; avoid unofficial agents charging inflated fees
  • For Umrah or Hajj travel, apply through the dedicated Nusuk platform rather than the general tourist e-Visa
  • Extensions are limited; if you need to stay beyond 90 days, consult the Jawazat (passport department) locally before the visa expires
