Visa on Arrival

Egyptian citizens receive a visitor entry permit on arrival in Palau, typically granting a 30-day stay, extendable at the Bureau of Immigration in Koror.

Guide last updated October 18, 2026. Always verify with official sources before travel.

What you need

  • Passport valid for at least 6 months beyond your planned stay
  • Confirmed onward or return flight ticket (required for the entry permit to be issued)
  • Proof of accommodation (hotel booking or host address)
  • Sufficient funds to cover the stay, shown if requested by immigration
  • No pre-approved visa or online application required before travel
  • Payment for the Palau Pristine Paradise Environmental Fee (Green Fee), usually collected with the airline ticket or on departure

Visa types

  • Visitor Entry Permit: issued free of charge on arrival, valid for an initial stay of 30 days
  • Extensions: granted by the Bureau of Immigration in increments (commonly 30, 60 or 90 days), up to a cumulative maximum of about one year, each extension carrying a fee

Visa on arrival

  • Present your passport, return ticket and accommodation details to the immigration officer at Roman Tmetuchl International Airport
  • The officer stamps a Visitor Entry Permit directly into your passport, typically valid for 30 days
  • No separate visa fee is charged at this stage; the main cost is the environmental Green Fee bundled into most air tickets or collected at departure
  • Keep the arrival stamp and any entry documents safe, as they may be checked again if you request an extension

Fees & processing time

  • Initial 30-day Visitor Entry Permit: no fee charged at the airport
  • Palau Pristine Paradise Environmental Fee (Green Fee): approx. USD 100, usually included in the airline ticket price or paid at departure
  • Extension fees at the Bureau of Immigration: approx. USD 50 per extension period
  • Processing time for the entry permit itself is immediate at the airport; extensions inside Palau typically take a few business days

Tips for Egypt travelers

  • Make sure your return or onward ticket is booked before travel, as immigration can deny entry without one
  • Confirm whether your airline has already included the Green Fee in the ticket price to avoid double payment
  • Apply for any extension at the Bureau of Immigration in Koror well before your current permit expires
  • Carry proof of accommodation for the full length of your intended stay
  • There is no Egyptian or Palauan embassy presence in each other's country, so plan travel documents and insurance in advance
