Macao Visa for Egypt Citizens 2026

Visa Free

Egyptian passport holders can enter Macao visa-free for stays of up to 90 days, with no application or fee required before travel.

Guide last updated October 18, 2026. Always verify with official sources before travel.

What you need

  • Passport valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry
  • Return or onward ticket showing you will leave Macao within the permitted stay
  • Proof of sufficient funds for the length of stay if requested by border officers
  • Proof of accommodation (hotel booking or host details) if requested by border officers
  • No visa application form, photo, or biometrics are required for the visa-free entry itself
  • Travel health insurance is not mandatory but is recommended given Macao's private healthcare costs

Visa types

  • No visa category applies - entry is granted as a visa-free stay permit stamped directly in the passport at the border
  • Travelers needing to work, study, or stay longer than 90 days must apply separately for the relevant Macao SAR visa or permit before travel, through the Macao Immigration Department

Entry conditions

  • Egyptian citizens may stay visa-free for up to 90 days per visit
  • Employment or any paid work during this stay is strictly prohibited
  • On arrival you must present your passport, onward/return ticket, and be ready to show proof of funds and accommodation if asked
  • Extensions beyond 90 days are not normally granted for visa-free entrants; travelers who need longer must leave and re-enter, or apply for an appropriate visa in advance
  • Macao SAR immigration rules operate separately from mainland China - a Macao stay does not grant entry into mainland China or Hong Kong

Fees & processing time

  • No visa fee - entry is free under the visa-free arrangement
  • No processing time applies, as there is no pre-travel application
  • The only cost to budget for is the standard Macao departure/airport tax if applicable to your flight and the cost of your return ticket

Tips for Egypt travelers

  • Carry a printed or digital copy of your return flight and hotel booking, since immigration officers can deny entry if they are not satisfied you intend to leave within 90 days
  • Keep at least 6 months of passport validity to avoid being refused boarding by the airline
  • If you also plan to visit mainland China on the same trip, check mainland China visa requirements separately, as Macao's visa-free entry does not cover it
  • Register locally if your home country requires it, but no local registration is required by Macao for short tourist stays
  • If your travel plans change and you need more than 90 days, apply in advance rather than relying on an extension
