Kosovo Visa for Egypt Citizens 2026

Visa Required

Egyptian citizens need a visa to enter Kosovo; it must be obtained in advance from a Kosovo diplomatic mission, with typical processing of around 10-15 working days and a fee of roughly 60 euros.

Guide last updated October 17, 2026. Always verify with official sources before travel.

What you need

  • Passport valid for at least 3 months beyond the visa's expiry date, with at least 2 blank pages
  • Completed Kosovo visa application form
  • Two recent passport-style photos (35x45mm, white background)
  • Proof of accommodation (hotel booking or invitation letter from a Kosovo resident/company)
  • Return flight ticket or travel itinerary
  • Proof of sufficient financial means (bank statement for the preceding 3 months)
  • Travel/medical insurance valid for Kosovo and the Schengen area, minimum coverage EUR 30,000
  • Biometrics (fingerprints and photo) are collected in person at the mission handling the application

Visa types

  • Type C short-stay visa (tourism/business): single or multiple entry, valid for stays up to 90 days within a 180-day period
  • Type D long-stay visa: for work, study, or family reunification, requires additional supporting documents from the relevant Kosovo authority
  • Transit visa: for travelers passing through Kosovo to a third country

How to apply

  • Since Egypt has no resident Kosovo embassy, applications are generally submitted to the nearest Kosovo diplomatic mission (commonly in Turkey) or coordinated with Kosovo's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora for guidance
  • Steps: gather the document checklist, book an appointment, submit the application and biometrics in person, pay the fee, and await a decision
  • An invitation letter from a host in Kosovo, registered with the Department of Citizenship, Asylum and Migration, significantly speeds up approval
  • No interview is typically required for straightforward tourist applications, but officers may request one

Fees & processing time

  • Standard short-stay visa fee: approximately EUR 60 (about USD 65)
  • Transit visa fee: approximately EUR 35
  • No dedicated VFS/BLS outsourcing center for Egypt; applications go directly through the designated mission, so there is no separate service fee
  • Standard processing time: 10-15 working days from a complete submission
  • No official expedited service is advertised; urgent cases should be flagged directly with the mission

Tips for Egypt travelers

  • Start the process at least 3-4 weeks before travel given the lack of a direct Kosovo mission in Egypt
  • A clear invitation letter from a Kosovo-based host or company greatly improves approval odds
  • Common rejection reasons include insufficient proof of funds, unclear travel purpose, and missing insurance documents
  • Check mfa-ks.net for the latest list of countries whose nationals need a visa and any updated application channels
  • If traveling onward into the Schengen area, make sure your Kosovo visa purpose and your onward Schengen visa (if needed) are consistent to avoid issues at the border
