India Visa for Egypt Citizens 2026

Visa Required

Egyptian citizens need a visa to enter India, available through India's e-Visa scheme for most short visits or via the IVAC visa center in Cairo for other categories.

Guide last updated October 17, 2026. Always verify with official sources before travel.

What you need

  • Passport valid for at least 6 months from the date of arrival, with at least 2 blank pages
  • Completed online application (e-Visa portal) or physical form for an IVAC sticker visa
  • Recent passport-size photo (2x2 inch, white background), uploaded digitally or printed
  • Proof of funds and a confirmed return ticket
  • Hotel booking or detailed itinerary
  • Biometrics required for sticker visa applications at IVAC Cairo; not required for the e-Visa
  • Travel insurance not mandatory but recommended

Visa types

  • e-Tourist visa: stays up to 90 days (longer validities of 1 year/5 years also available), double entry, fee from USD 25-80 depending on duration
  • e-Business and e-Medical visas also available online
  • Regular (sticker) Tourist/Business visa via IVAC Cairo for those needing longer validity or more entries than the e-Visa allows

How to apply

  • For the e-Visa: apply online at indianvisaonline.gov.in, upload a photo and passport bio page, pay the fee by card, and receive an Electronic Travel Authorization by email
  • For a sticker visa: book an appointment at IVAC Cairo, submit the physical application, passport, photos and documents, and collect the passport once processed
  • The Embassy of India in Cairo sets policy; IVAC manages day-to-day application intake

Fees & processing time

  • e-Visa fee: approximately USD 25 (30-day), USD 40 (1-year multiple entry), USD 80 (5-year multiple entry), plus a small payment processing charge
  • Sticker visa fee: similar range plus an IVAC service charge (approx. USD 10-15)
  • e-Visa processing: typically 3-5 business days; apply at least 4 days before travel, ideally earlier
  • Sticker visa processing: 5-7 working days standard

Tips for Egypt travelers

  • The e-Visa is usually the fastest and most convenient option for most Egyptian tourists
  • Ensure the photo and passport scan meet exact specifications, as mismatches are a common rejection reason
  • Apply a few weeks ahead during peak Indian tourist season (October-March) when processing can slow
  • Check the number of permitted entries and validity window on the e-Visa approval before booking flights
  • For visa types not covered by the e-Visa, IVAC Cairo remains the only route
