Azerbaijan Visa for Egypt Citizens 2026

Visa Required

Egyptian citizens need a sticker visa for Azerbaijan, issued by the Azerbaijani Embassy in Cairo since Egypt is not eligible for the ASAN e-visa system; fee around USD 20-50, processing 5-10 working days.

Guide last updated October 17, 2026. Always verify with official sources before travel.

What you need

  • Passport valid for at least 6 months beyond entry date, with blank pages
  • Completed Azerbaijan visa application form
  • 2 passport-size photos (35x45mm)
  • Hotel booking or a Letter of Invitation (LOI) from an Azerbaijani host or company
  • Round-trip flight itinerary
  • Bank statement showing sufficient funds for the trip
  • Travel health insurance covering the stay (recommended, sometimes required)
  • No biometrics required for the embassy sticker visa

Visa types

  • Tourist visa: single entry, up to 30 days, for holiday travel
  • Business visa: single or multiple entry, requires an invitation letter from an Azerbaijani company
  • Transit visa: for travelers passing through Baku to a third country
  • Note: Azerbaijan's ASAN Visa e-visa portal (evisa.gov.az) only covers a defined list of eligible nationalities, and Egypt is not currently on it, so Egyptian citizens must use the embassy route

How to apply

  • Contact the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Cairo to confirm the current document checklist
  • Submit the application form, passport, photos and invitation letter/hotel booking in person or via an authorized visa agent
  • Pay the consular fee at submission
  • Collect the passport with the visa sticker once issued, or request courier return if offered

Fees & processing time

  • Consular visa fee: approximately USD 20-50 depending on visa type and number of entries
  • Standard processing time: 5-10 working days
  • Urgent/expedited processing may be available for an additional fee at the embassy's discretion
  • No separate service-center fee, since this is a direct embassy application

Tips for Egypt travelers

  • Secure a formal Letter of Invitation before applying if traveling for business - applications without one are commonly delayed or rejected
  • Apply at least 2-3 weeks ahead of travel to allow for embassy processing
  • Common rejection reasons include an unclear travel purpose, insufficient funds, or an invitation letter that does not match the applicant's details
  • Confirm the embassy's current required document list by phone before submitting, since requirements for Egypt can change
  • Extensions inside Azerbaijan are handled by the State Migration Service in Baku and should be requested before the visa expires
